RFID Heat-sealing Laundry Tags Instructions

Heat-sealing RFID laundry tags is a common method for securely attaching these tags to garments and linens in commercial laundry and textile management systems. Here are general heat-sealing instructions for RFID laundry tags:

Materials and Tools:

  1. RFID Heat-sealing laundry tags
  2. Heat-sealing machine
  3. Garments or linens to be tagged
  4. Protective gloves (for safety)

Procedure:

  1. Prepare Your Work Area:

    • Ensure you have a clean, dry, and well-lit workspace.
    • Make sure the heat-sealing machine is in good working condition.
  2. Set Up the Heat-Sealing Machine:

    • Plug in and turn on the heat-sealing machine, following the manufacturer's instructions.
    • Adjust the machine to the recommended temperature and pressure settings for the specific RFID laundry tags you are using. These settings can vary depending on the tag manufacturer and model. Refer to the tag manufacturer's guidelines for the correct settings.
  3. Position the Garment or Linen:

    • Lay the garment or linen flat on the heat-sealing machine's work surface.
  4. Place the RFID Laundry Tag:

    • Position the RFID laundry tag in the desired location on the garment or linen, typically on an inconspicuous and durable area like a hem or seam.
  5. Cover with a Heat-Seal Sheet:

    • Some heat-sealing machines may require a protective heat-seal sheet to be placed over the RFID tag. This sheet prevents direct contact between the tag and the heating element of the machine. Check the machine's instructions to see if this is necessary.
  6. Start the Heat-Sealing Process:

    • Once everything is in place, carefully lower the heat-sealing arm or plate onto the tag and garment. The heat and pressure will activate the adhesive on the back of the RFID tag and securely attach it to the fabric.
  7. Hold and Release:

    • Follow the recommended heat-sealing duration for your specific RFID tags. It's usually just a few seconds.
  8. Wait for Cooling:

    • After the specified time, carefully lift the heat-sealing arm or plate to release the garment. Allow the heat-sealed area to cool for a few seconds.
  9. Check for Adhesion:

    • Gently tug on the RFID tag to ensure it is securely adhered to the garment or linen. If it comes loose, you may need to repeat the heat-sealing process.
  10. Repeat for Additional Tags:

    • If you have more RFID tags to attach, repeat the process for each one.
  11. Quality Control:

    • After heat-sealing, visually inspect the RFID tags to ensure they are properly attached without any wrinkles or misalignment.
  12. Record and Track:

    • It's important to keep records of which RFID tags are applied to which items. This information can be stored in your laundry or inventory management system for tracking purposes.
